The Kaaimansgat Blanc de Blancs 2016 has been awarded a DOUBLE GOLD with a score of 93 at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge 2021!
An outstanding achievement: congratulations to our dedicated winemaking team on this well-deserved recognition.
The Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge tastes and awards more than 10 000 wines per year. Tastings are conducted quarterly by a French tasting panel, chaired by Philippe Gaillard, Francois Gilbert and Sylvain Patard. The tastings are done blind.
Yellow straw. Sour dough, biscotti and a hint of smoky toast. Palate is fresh, lively with a fresh apple and white pear note. Lively and youthful with a slight nutty note on the finish. Complex and rich with a lingering acidity on the aftertaste. Great! - Gilbert & Gaillard
The Kaaimansgat Blanc de Blancs 2016 was inspired by the grower Champagne movement in France and is a terroir-driven Blanc de Blancs made in a natural style in small batches. Sculpted by the vintage, it expresses the distinctive character of the high altitude Kaaimansgat vineyard.
